SERVICES AND PRICING
CLASSROOM AND BEHIND-THE-WHEEL INSTRUCTION BUNDLE
This Bundle package includes the mandatory 30-hours of classroom instruction and the 6-hours of Behind-the-wheel to be completed once the classroom instruction has been passed. This package fulfills the NC State requirements for students under 18.
PAYMENT MUST BE MADE DURING REGISTRATION. COST: $449
6-HOUR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL INSTRUCTION
This course is six hours of behind-the-wheel training with an A.S.A certified driving instructor for students under 18 and in need of a driver's certificate of completion. A student maybe in the vehicle with another student.(no more than three per session)
PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE DURING REGISTRATION. COST: $329
PRIVATE DRIVING LESSONS (All Ages Welcome)
(All locations Charlotte/Concord/Huntersville)
This is one-on-one private driving lessons with an A.S.A certified driving instructor to work on specific maneuvers or to just gain more experience behind-the-wheel.
PAYMENT MUST BE MADE DURING REGISTRATION.
COST: 2 HOUR MINIMUM @ $82.50 PER HOUR
2 Hour Package - $165 6 Hour Package - $449

USE OF VEHICLE
A.S.A will provide a company vehicle for the DMV road test for students. If you are not a student, you MUST take a minimum of 2-hour private driving lessons before scheduling the use of the vehicle. An A.S.A instructor will take you or meet you at the DMV the day of the scheduled test. COST: $149
Refund Policy: A.S.A will not refund any tuition monies or any part thereof when actual services have been rendered; however, if a contract is terminated early only 50% of tuition monies paid will be refunded. A.S.A does not accept personal checks. Cash, Debit, Credit, Zelle, Cashier’s Checks or Money Orders Only.

A Step Ahead Driving school cannot guarantee that all students who pass our course will pass the DMV exam or DMV Road test; however, we will do our best to provide each student with the necessary knowledge required by DMV.
NORTH CAROLINA DRIVERS LICENSE RULES AND REGULATIONS
TEEN DRIVERS:
Students who are at least 14.5 years old and in pursuit of a high school diploma or GED may enroll in A.S.A ’s Driver education course that consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction, an eye/medical screening, plus 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Once the student has passed both the classroom portion and the behind-the-wheel training, they will receive a Driver Education Certificate. This allows them to apply for A Level One Limited Learner Permit, which is the first level of North Carolina’s graduated licensing process for drivers under 18 years of age.
DRIVING ELIGIBILTY CERTIFICATE FOR TEENS:
High school students who are completing their academic requirements successfully are issued a Driving Eligibility Certificate by their high school. To receive this certificate, they must be between 15 and 17 years old, currently enrolled in school and progressing successfully toward a diploma or GED.
DMV PERMIT REQUIREMENTS
DMV REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A NC DRIVERS PERMIT:

Student must be at least 15 years old

Student needs a Certificate of Completion from A Step Ahead Driving School

Students needs a Driver Eligibility Certificate issued by the students’ school

Original Birth Certificate, NC ID Card, Social Security Card, Proof of NC Residency

Student must be accompanied by a Parent or Legal Guardian who has held a drivers license for at least 5 years.
*Parents please remember that all students under the age of 18 must get an Eligibility Certificate from their child’s high school before going to the DMV for the Learner’s Permit test. This certificate may only be obtained by a parent or guardian. Parents will bring the Certificate of Completion to their child’s high school to show proof that the student has passed the driver education requirement.
Please remember: Driver’s Eligibility Certificates expire 30 days after the date they are issued.
